The Bringing Baby Home®: A Couples Prenatal Workshop for Relationship Resilience
Early Bird
$420 until 8/15
A research-based couples workshop, enhanced with somatic and perinatal support, to help you strengthen your relationship, prepare emotionally, and enter parenthood as a connected team.
Preparing for Baby Means Preparing for Each Other
Many couples spend months preparing for their baby’s arrival—setting up the nursery, attending medical appointments, and learning practical parenting skills.
Yet, research consistently shows that one of the biggest predictors of family well-being after a baby arrives is the strength of the couple’s relationship.
The transition to parenthood often brings unexpected emotional and relational changes. Partners may experience increased stress, exhaustion, shifting roles, and less time for connection. Even strong, loving relationships can feel strained under the pressure of new responsibilities and sleep deprivation.
Preparing for baby also means preparing for how you will support one another through these changes. When couples enter parenthood with shared tools for communication, emotional regulation, and teamwork, they are more likely to feel connected, supported, and confident as they navigate this new chapter together.
Why Relationship Preparation Matters During Pregnancy & Postpartum
Pregnancy and early parenthood bring emotional, physical, and relational shifts that can challenge even strong couples.
Research shows that 67% of couples experience a significant drop in the quality of their relationship during the first three years of their baby’s life due to stress, sleep disruption, and new caregiving demands.
Building relationship skills before baby arrives helps you stay emotionally connected, communicate effectively during stress, and strengthen teamwork — laying a stable and nurturing foundation for themselves and their baby.
Preparing for Baby: From Logistics to Relationship Resilience
The Bringing Baby Home® Workshop helps couples strengthen communication, connection, and parenting teamwork before and after baby arrives.
At Grow & Well, this experience is enhanced with somatic and perinatal mental health support to help couples stay connected through the emotional, physical, and relational changes of pregnancy and postpartum.
Many couples spend months preparing for baby through planning and logistics. This workshop helps couples also prepare their relationship for the transition into parenthood.
Would you like to enter parenthood knowing you and your partner have tools to stay connected through stress and change?

What Makes This Workshop Unique: Somatic & Perinatal Support for New & Expectant Parents
In addition to delivering the official Bringing Baby Home® curriculum, this workshop includes supplemental support developed through my clinical specialization in somatic therapy and perinatal mental health.
Somatic Skills for Managing Parenting Stress
Parenthood challenges not just communication — but the nervous system.
During stress, exhaustion, or overwhelm, it can be difficult to access relationship skills even when you know them intellectually.
Bonus 30-minute somatic practices offered before each workshop day help couples:
• Regulate stress responses during conflict or parenting challenges
• Increase emotional presence and responsiveness
• Strengthen resilience during sleep deprivation and life transitions
Perinatal Wellness Support
Pregnancy and postpartum involve significant emotional, hormonal, and identity changes that are rarely addressed in traditional parenting classes.
This workshop provides additional guidance to help couples:
• Emotionally prepare for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum transitions
• Recognize signs of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
• Create a personalized postpartum emotional support plan
• Support both partners’ mental health during early parenthood
Together, these additional elements help couples integrate relationship skills during real-life emotional, physiological, and postpartum challenges.
Please note: Supplemental content is independently developed and is not part of or endorsed by The Gottman Institute.

Most couples attend during pregnancy — ideally in the second or third trimester — when there is time and energy to learn and practice relationship skills before your baby arrives.
The workshop is also helpful for couples in early postpartum or those who already have young children (up to 3 years old) and want to strengthen their parenting partnership.
-
Yes. The workshop is designed for couples attending together because the focus is on strengthening teamwork, communication, and emotional support between partners.

Somatic practices to support stress regulation and emotional connection
Perinatal mental health education

The 60-minute reunion group typically occurs approximately 8–12 weeks after the workshop, when many couples are adjusting to early postpartum life. This session offers space to revisit skills, reflect on real experiences, and strengthen co-parenting support. A date and time will be determined by the cohort group during the 2-day workshop.
-
Yes. Many couples attend as a proactive investment in their relationship. Even strong relationships benefit from preparing for the emotional, physical, and logistical changes that come with welcoming a baby.
